History

Sargodha the city of Eagles ,  Its history dates back to ancient times, with the region being part of various empires and dynasties, including the Maurya, Gupta, and the Delhi Sultanate.  The modern city of Sargodha was established during British rule in 1903 as a canal colony, aimed at developing agricultural lands. It grew significantly due to its strategic location and fertile soil.  Post-independence in 1947, Sargodha became an important administrative and military center. It hosts the Pakistan Air Force Base, which played a crucial role during the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971. Today, Sargodha is known for its agricultural produce, particularly citrus fruits, and continues to grow as an economic and educational hub in Punjab.
